Darina Gleeson graduated with a First Class Honours in Bachelor of Music Degree in Performance from DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama. Darina has been teaching for many years, which has resulted in her gaining experience in not just an individual setting but teaching as a group setting such as ensembles. During her professional career, she has combined teaching music and caring for children with intellectual disability. She has taught music in primary schools from junior infants to sixth class. Darina has experience in teaching the syllabus of the RIAM (Royal Irish Academy of Music) and the ABRSM (Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music) LCM (London College of Music) and the Junior and Leaving Certification practical music exams.
Darina is also the owner of the franchise Gymboree South Wexford in which she has been running for the past few years. Darina is well known among the children of Wexford from visiting playschools, toddler groups and holding public classes. She has also been developing a work place choir Wexlyrical with the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government for a few years now which has grown from strength to strength.
Darina is an experienced performer; she has performed in, The National Concert Hall, Áras an Uachtaráin, The 3 Arena, Vicar Street and numerous Festivals. Darina is a well-experienced speaker and has performed on the radio; she has featured on broadcasts for RTÉ Radio and Radio na Gaeltachta. Darina has toured many parts of the world performing which includes, Britain, Europe, China, India and America.
